My career path"I'm proud to have been involved in creating a whole range of buildings, including bridges, schools, shopping centres, villas and tunnels."
I’m a civil engineer. My work involves doing calculations to check the resilience of buildings and bridges, and building roads and tunnels as well. I also conduct site visits to ensure that everything is in order.
My passion. My work changes a lot with each new project. I’ve been involved in large buildings, individual villas, and even bridges and tunnels. What I find really interesting is following a project as it develops, from the initial sketches right through to its completion. I get to meet people from all different professions, including the architect, the electrician and the builder.
Every day brings something new and expands my knowledge, even after over ten years in the job.
My career path. I still work for the firm I joined when I left university. The engineers and my bosses have done a lot for me, both in terms of the faith they’ve had in my abilities and the continuity they provided me with in my career.
A downside or obstacle ? So far, everything has gone very well in my career and my studies. I hope that will continue. There are more and more women in my field, but we’re still a long way from achieving parity. What I would say is that nobody has ever tried to prevent me from doing the job I love.
I’m proud to have been involved in creating a whole range of buildings, including bridges, schools, shopping centres, villas and tunnels. Each project taught me something new and allowed me to progress professionally.
